It’s making the show drag a lot less. I’m thinking of season 5 and the long, drawn out bopping around the countryside, all the characters scattered to the winds stories. It was a slog to get to the good episodes that season.

But then they got all smug and said that whatever was happening on the show would never happen in the books because the books are great and the show is garbage. Apparently season 5 of the show, based on the books, didn’t count.

When Deathly Hallows came out, I spent essentially that entire weekend off the internet, reading the book and sleeping. I just let the plot wash over me, which was a great experience. There haven’t been many things I’ve cared about since then to go that far to avoid spoilers.
