Wow. Let’s Active is a total blast from the past. I remember them primarily for this song, and that their frontman, Mitch Easter, produced the earliest R.E.M. albums and received critical acclaim for them.

Beat Farmers - Reason To Believe
RFTC on Kilborn
Tijuana Panthers - Red Headed Girl
Death - Keep On Knocking
Replacements - Alex Chilton
Alex Chilton. I’ll hold onto it for another day.
I had a Replacements video all lined up and ready to go, but this made me think of Tribe.
The past few days, this kept popping up as a recommended video whenever I opened YouTube. After some time, I gave it a try. It’s by a young guy in Sacramento and I guess it went kind of viral over the past week or two. I’m not sure how I feel about it. Maybe someone out there knows more about it.
There’s a moment near the end of that Jenelle Monae video where she appears to be flipping double middle fingers while she’s dancing between the different brightly colored legs. It instantly made me think of this video, which features lots of middle fingers.
The Jayhawks - Blue
Yeah, they became Living Color after HR.
And I am a big Husker Du fan. Didn’t mean to leave them out.
I got into Fugazi because of Minor Threat. Ian MacKaye was the Minor Threat lead, but when he moved on to Fugazi, he mostly played guitar and jumped around a lot, like in the video. But he was a great singer/yeller for Minor Threat.
Fugazi-Turnover
I love it.
Wolfmother - Joker and the Thief
It’s Friday, so that means...
The Grassroots - Midnight Confession
“See you next week when I give up sugar for Lent, which, after all this, is bound to be sadly anticlimactic.”
