I hope someone follows up on this.  Like a Toyota mechanic to ID what the failure is? Spun main bearings?   Only at high load? It doesn’t make much sense. Downthread is a theory about 0W oil.  Could that contribute?

How does this happen? I’m guessing it was under power looking at the damage. Air brakes right? How do they fail. At the lever? Air leak?
I don’t know and am curious.

D series Dodge’s. By the late 70's they were scrap right out of the factory and how they soldiered on until 1992 defies belief. Iacocca gets some demerits for ignoring the truck biz.

An AC compressor? I thought everyone was going to heat pumps.

It’s a non intuitive fact that tiny engines do not get the best highway mpg. C&D got 32mpg on their 75mph run test. Their test of a 24 Corolla which has a 2 liter four got 40 mpg, with the all wheel drive model. Which takes us to why the tiny engine. Sure, packaging and cost. Would $500  more building an engine make

I haven’t had any trouble with mine. I got a 2013 Transit Connect in 2020 with 170k miles. A 1.5KW power bank, fridge, microwave, hifi, lots of stuff, enough bedding for 10 below and room for 1. Have to use the tent for 2.

It’s not too late to lose the diesel bug. Like the time you almost bought a Hayabusa but then said, nah, forgetaboutit. How about going for a high RPM engine for a goal?

Anyone having nostalgia for some past era of GM should seek professional mental health care.

Brakes. Brakes? You don’t need no stinking brakes. Real men don’t need brakes.

The Yugo gets a bum rap.  Did you know that 90% of all Yugo’s ever made are still on the side of the road.

It’s not a cycle, as in bicycle.  It has 4 wheels. It’s a motorized vehicle sure but it isn’t a cycle. It has nothing to do with ‘cycles’, except you straddle it.

Not even an auction?  Hell yes. What’s the most you can lose? $30K.  There are millions of cars which are going to depreciate that much in two years right now. If it stops running just park it in the driveway and enjoy.

EV’s are faltering because, and don’t get mad, gas is too cheap. 20 or 15 or 10 years ago when makers were formulating their strategies higher gas prices were assumed.  Oil prices will continue to define the EV vs ICE market.

Cybertruck. The vehicle for attention whores to announce they think they are a Big Swinging Dick.

My first gen Transit Connect. While every possible performance metric is horrible it’s got a fridge, microwave and a sleeping area.

First Moto GP needs an American rider. Then it needs an American champion. An American brand competing wouldn’t hurt. The first is currently unlikely and the second two are impossible.

I kind of like the Valiant.

The lady might not have looked or seemed like it but she was a gigantic publicity hound and her last act was her tops.

Oil is too cheap so it has messed up the entire EV equation. We have been waiting 50 years for oil to really get into short supply oil and expensive. So let’s look at the numbers.
