Eh as someone who watched the anime I have to disagree with you. Ash’s struggles with Pokemon and then their eventual acceptance of him is a far more riveting tale and shows his growth. Also Charizard finally accepting Ash was one of the greatest moments in the cartoon. Just my two cents.
