I still don't see how 3 companies represent the entirety of Japan. One, it's no secret that Square Enix isn't as good as they used to be (or that's what I hear a lot). But the problem you encountered could probably happen with anything.

I like it! A lot! Hopefully developers support this. Having more options for gaming is never a bad thing. I just hope you can adjust the screen because the way it's shown feels like it would be a little uncomfortable.

Actually, they do have the right to do whatever they want with their intellectual property. As far as I know there is no law against anything you mentioned. I'm not for DLC in any means, but it is their decision to make. But it's up to the consumer whether or not to buy into things like this.
