He’s a legend in this city. You’re bound to see a plethora of Sabathia jerseys whenever you visit Miller Park, and for good reason, man put the team on his back and carried them into the postseason. He’ll never have to pay for a drink in Milwaukee again.

Not sure there’s been a Brewer who had as much impact in such a short amount of time as CC did in 2008. He nearly single-handedly pulled that franchise back to relevance.

I will never say an unkind word about CC. Obviously, I wish the Brewers could have paid for him, but we knew coming in that it might be just a half season rental. He earned that paycheck.

That Milwaukee run was one of the most amazing runs I've ever seen in my baseball lifetime. Seemed like he was taking the ball every time on three days rest and somehow still working into the 7th and 8th

His Milwaukee stint also gave Yankee announcing a decade plus of talking points during interleague play about how much he loves to hit and what a good hitting pitcher he was during his time in the National League, like he was some grizzled veteran NL slugger and not a 17-start rental 11 years ago.

Not only did he continue to be a stud on the mound for the Brewers, but he also embraced being a hitter in the NL, and did pretty damn well for himself with the bat.  Nothing endears a pitcher to fans more than being able to hit.

*gives Sabathia standing ovation* “THAT’S FOR YOU, BITCH”

I feel the same way about Sabathia. In 17 starts for the Brewers, he went 11-2 with *seven* complete games and a 1.65 ERA. In game 162 he pitched a complete game against the Cubs to clinch the Wild Card where Braun hit a HR in the bottom of the eigth.

And for those who haven’t seen this already...

That run was truly incredible. He and Braun really carried the Brewers to the playoffs that season.

I kind of took a shit on him after he left here to go sign the $$$$ in New York, but goddamn if he didn’t pour his entire heart and soul into everything he did back then. How many times did we run him out there on short rest because he was THE ENTIRE rotation back then? He came into Milwaukee, pretty much picked up

More than how well he pitched, was his willingness to do it on short rest, over, and over, and over, and carry that team into their first playoff appearance in many fans memories. Without CC, Brewers history is vastly different.  If he doesnt end up on our walk of fame, it will be a travesty.

I have a coworker from Milwaukee who still wears his CC Sabathia Brewers jersey to work on casual Friday at least once a month. I’m pretty sure it’s his most prized possession.

*Closes laptop thoughtfully, wipes away a tear, considers life for a moment, reopens laptop, types away furiously*

Even though he split after five minutes here, the performances he had as a Brewer really endeared him to most Milwaukee baseball fans. The guy didn’t have one bad start if memory serves, and usually went something like 8-1/3 with maybe one run given up.

Look more like an single axe handle chop from the top rope... but either way not too effective.

Maybe you’re too young to remember, but that was definitely a “Macho Man” Randy Savage flying elbow off the top turnbuckle attempt.

Welp, that was one lazy looking, and yet, committed people’s elbow attempt by that one dude and I would’ve laughed even harder had he continued tumbling down the row of seats.

When will Cleveland confront the reality of Wahooliganism in their own community?
