@lisas: Right? Let 'em at it. Many of us say silly stuff and wear crazy things when we're that age. Some of us grow out of it, some don't.

@Miss Suka: You know, if the doa gaun hadn't been included, I'd give it a pass (well, actually I am giving it a pass, but you know. I'd give more of a pass). But by including a type of veil that is very clearly native to areas so far removed geographically from the Middle East was a little jarring to me.
I always figured looking THAT bad would require a lot of time and effort. It's not natural.
@RedBeansAndRiceDidMissHer: Someone said upthread that it didn't take off in the US, so it's now limited to (some?) European countries.
Though I understand the frustration when one sees pretty clothes one can't get one's hands on all too well, as a European who lives well outside the delivery/ordering zone of many American retailers, I think it's important to remember two things:
@SilentShout: Though I agree that the lack of plus size options is appalling, I think calling it "clothing apartheid" is going a bit far. Until there are laws which banish plus size people to townships, condemn them to poverty, and there is a very real risk of them getting killed for stepping even a toe out of line, I…
@whereismyrobot: Big is Beautiful, the plus size line H&M has had in The Netherlands for, oh, I think at least 10 years.
I live in these delivery zones, but I'm wondering why this is news, or rather why they're launching a new line when there's BiB. I can't really tell if the new line will replace BiB or if it has larger sizes than BiB or if BiB is a regional thing and they're now launching a line that's more widely available.
@Ima B. Me: She will say we need to prevent immigration to create more Lebensraum for real Americans.
@joannabobanna: Just be aware that the owner of Curves has donated approximately 10% of the profits to anti-choice charities. [www.snopes.com]
@macbecks: Clever. I'd say support your local stores whenever you can, but if you're really on a tight budget then this is a smart way to go.
@MissContrarian: Fox News very much turned him into a political figure, even though he did not hold office.
@topsoftrees: I think it's not so much blaming is being very angry and wanting everyone who's been spouting hateful, violent language to (wo)man up and be accountable for once.
@Erin Burr: But we're not BLAMING. We're pointing out that inflammatory language and/or images MAY have real-life consequences. It is absolutely right to point out that the Congresswoman has received death threats and that she had a rifle's crosshairs over her location when she has been shot. It's not assigning…
@topsoftrees: No one is "blaming" Palin. But the Congresswoman herself has pointed out the problems with posting such images and texts:
@LolaSocks: I, and I'm assuming reporters and bloggers, are leaning towards politically motivated because she was at a political event she was hosting herself. Additionally, she was apparently shot in the head before others were shot, indicating that whoever shot her was at least after HER and not after a victim in…
@MissContrarian: Before she was shot, the congresswoman herself made the connection. Make of that what you will.
@Erin Burr: "We need to realize that the rhetoric, and the firing people up and … for example, we’re on Sarah Palin’s ‘targeted’ list, but the thing is, the way she has it depicted, we’re in the crosshairs of a gun sight over our district. When people do that, they’ve gotta realize that there are consequences to that…
@MissContrarian: Just because everything you know about assassins comes from Hollywood doesn't mean you're right.
