@NewsBunny: Yup. Some years ago on new year's eve there was a fire in a pub in The Netherlands and the emergency exits were blocked. People were crushed, jumped out the windows, all that stuff.

Work that skirt, Ms Winstead. Work it.

@exitnowlite: Well, crazies can be found anywhere. One of the commenters on one of the German sites was blaming liberals (die Grünen) for what happened.

Eyewitness reports are making my stomach churn. One person said that in the early stages of the panic, they were passing unconcious girls over the heads of the crowd to get them out, as though they were crowdsurfing.

@m.e. stijl: Yeah, I don't think it's a ticketed event either, but there was definitely fault on the organiser's part. Only one entrance and then closing it (as those who were there are saying happened) while people are trying to get in is just asking for trouble.

@ab33: I've been reading this site ([www.rp-online.de] which has sort of a liveblog going on, but I can't really figure it out. It seems like it was at least very close to the station. People were apparently on the tracks, which is why they closed the station and weren't running any more trains. But I don't think it

@lalie (apologetic mess): Eh, when have you known thousands of people sticking to dividers/plans, especially when things get sticky and they just want to get OUT? I expect the panic started with the people who wanted to leave and had nowhere to go. Maybe they went in a direction they weren't supposed to go?

@clockwise - counter: Yeah, I know they're awful, but they're generally quite good at organising eye-witness reports quickly. Also, my German's getting a little rusty and they don't use too many big words, haha.

@lalie (apologetic mess): Bild says the following: Wegen Überfüllung wollten Tausende das Gelände verlassen, um zu einer zweiten, außerhalb des Geländes liegenden Bühne zu kommen.

@clockwise - counter: Yeah, I'm seeing the same things. Bild has pictures of victims though (covered with sheets, but you can still see their arms and such) which I find in terribly bad taste. Just imagine having a loved one there, looking at the site (you wouldn't be able to get in touch with them, because I can

The video on the Bild website says that two streams of people collided: one stream wanted to leave because there were too many people at the grounds while the other stream was on their way to the grounds to party. I can completely understand two streams of people trying to push through one another, getting stuck, and

@clockwise - counter: Oh god, you wouldn't get me in a crowd like this if you paid me a million dollars. Such crowds are my number 1 fear. I completely understand how that went wrong.

@SorciaMacnasty: Ferrealz. Morgause was fantastic. And how kick-ass a name is Mordred?

So, so terrible. I don't think they should've ever moved it out of Berlin. This is one of the biggest dance festivals in Europe, and I'm not sure it was a good idea to leave the organisation up to a smaller city with smaller facilities.

@SorciaMacnasty: No Elaines for me, sadly. It's only a 20-page article, so I'm limited in my choices. I'm doing Morgan and her influence on poor Accolon, Pelleas and Ettarde (and that bitch the Damsel of the Lake who makes her die of a broken heart) and - per my advisor's orders - Lancelot and Guinevere. Which, ugh.

@SorciaMacnasty: That sounds great! Unfortunately I have an old curmudgeon for an advisor and am not allowed to use feminist or gender theory (because, according to him, it always 'picks and chooses,' which, don't even get me started), but I'm being as woman-centric as I can be.

My standard for what is or isn't age-appropriate? If grown-ass men would wank to the picture/image/video (generally, not because they're pervs for go fo young girls only), it is not age-appropriate.

@sissylarue: To be fair, the second movie was way, way worse than the third. It didn't really go anywhere, but just set things up for the third movie, if you know what I mean. But then I'm a sucker for Orlando Bloom As A Pirate (ARRR) so I might be a wee bit biased.

Very, very helpful in taking my mind off writing how women are instrumental in the disintegration of Arthur's Round Table.
