Nintendo will go with whoever they can get 100% creative control with. I can also see this as being a film that has a story that is all new and part of the timeline and will take a very long to come out.

GotG3 is performing very well and has already done better than many MCU "hit" films within 4 weeks. It's tracking well to match the 2nd films lifetime box office. Well, it’s already been confirmed on Twitter from the director themselves that there is a small but very fanwanky cameo from someone who has played Superman once...and the OST tracklisting has massive spoilers of who could also pop up.

As an English gamer, I was used to paying £1.99 to £9.99 for my games in the 80s that could be finished within an hour if we were lucky that there wasnt a game breaking bug. Knowing Nintendo, a Mario sequel isnt always dead cert. Any other company would have had a Mario Odyssey 2 out by now and a 3rd on the way, and perhaps thats for the best.
