Hate to say this, but I’m so beaten down by what’s transpired the last several years that I feel nothing anymore. I know I should feel outraged, and at some level I am, but mainly I’m just resigned to these people getting their way. Every. Fucking. Time.

Toronto is going to be fun to watch, for sure, but I’m not too impressed with the Leafs. They’re a disaster in their own end, and it’ll cost them in the playoffs.

Why does everyone pick on Pete Carroll so much? At the risk of sounding like a Seahawks’ homer, here is Seattle’s win-loss record the last six seasons: 11, 13, 12, 10, 10, 9. Playoff record during that span: 8-4.

She said Tuesday that she would be considering legal action against the organizers of the tournament.”

Yes, I do. Actions speak louder than words, and Mr. Sagan demonstrated allegiance when it was his turn to serve. On the other hand, I know a current political figure who makes a big show of reciting the pledge of allegiance, but shirked his duty to serve. Do you view that as being hypocritical?

Another white male coasting through life, but thinking the deck is stacked against him. Nothing to see here.

Self-awareness is critical in maturing as a human being, as is treating ALL people well. As you wrote, being a decent and respectful human being is a chore, but the reward is being a good person, feeling better about yourself, and having others feel better about you.

The important thing to note is: Nobody, nobody, believes a single one of these defenses, most likely not even the people offering them.”

Pet peeve: Why do writers and broadcasters prefer the word “philosophy” over “strategy.I’m used to it because everyone does it, but philosophy is a tough college course that deals with the world, universe and society. Strategy is deciding whether to throw or run the ball on first down, etc.

According to Phil Mushnick, antics like this are the downfall of Western Civilization.

Wilbon and Kornheiser both need to smoke some Hawaiian Haze, lock themselves in a dark closet, and reflect on what they’ve become. Smug and wildly in love with one’s self is a bad look.

While I agree with the premise that Bergevin has been disastrous for the Canadiens, it’s fairly obvious a rebuild is underway. Excerpt from Eyes On The Prize:

I’ve never understood he Pete Carroll bashing is misguided. He gets seriously good results, but I suppose people prefer automatons like Eric Mangini and two dozen other Peter Principled mediocrities.

In-N-Out Burger = way overrated. The vaunted Double-Double is tiny and an order of fries gets you about 12 under cooked shoestrings.

I know people who do actually research practically every consumer purchase, and I admire their efforts. I’m talking extremely frugal anti-consumers, and I feel guilty by comparison.

So burning perfectly good clothing to show your support for veterans and the military is preferable to donating clothing to homeless veterans.”

What does logic have to do with anything? We live in a world where “Christians” proudly support morally repugnant policies.

Until one of these guys actually is thrown in prison, inhumane methods will be practiced. If all of this is true, then D.J. Durkin should be made an example for other idiot coaches.

Does James Dolan have enough self-awareness to understand he’s a “performer” only because he’s filthy rich?

Fabulous article! My reaction, I suppose, is that there are no heroes in this story.
