Ignorance absolutely is destroying this country.

Serious question here: Is it good or bad for society when people seemingly live and die on the outcome of their favorite football team?

A funny things about these new arenas/stadiums. To me, at least, they’ve made the TV viewing experience less interesting. A game from the Boston Garden had aura, as did ones from the Montreal Forum, Maple Leaf Gardens and Chicago Stadium. Now theses arenas all the same, and they come with unromantic corporate names

Interesting and refreshing that they don’t use fancy and expensive equipment in this video; the goal doesn’t even have netting.

Is bagging a trophy wife really so important that you throw your whole previous life away? Granted, I don’t know the particulars of this case, but that’s sure what it looks like.

Pro hockey’s existence in North America is due to the fact that the true north is frigid, and Winnipeg’s climate is perfectly suited to hockey culture (although NHL commissioner Gary Bettman would probably disagree).

For the same reason billionaires want tax cuts—no amount of money is ever enough. Period.

Tom Brady commenting on team sports at the NBA Finals:

I don’t know if anyone else posted this link, but here is a proper documentary on the suicide forest.

Facts? Where you been, man?

You nailed it. Watching the billionaire Wilpons openly whine has been tasteless and grotesque.

“Before being laid off in 2009. . .”

Vegas is strong evidence of a revolution in the NHL. The old guard overvalues unquantifiable traits like “grit”, “leadership” and “character”. A more enlightened approach that emphasizes speed, puck possession and (most of all) skill is winning the day.

The thought of being told to dress “professionally” for Roger Goodell makes me weep for humanity. Excellent story, though.

Does Bill Mitchell have a hot take on this development?
