A welcome respite from GTA V

OK, so I already posted a comment trashing Destiny.

I think we can all band together here to trash Destiny if we tried. Let’s have a go.

Oh, I can tell you exactly where the animosity comes from. Egotistical people don’t take criticism well, and rockstar programmers are often egomaniacs.

Despite the ‘lol’ I am getting a lot of replies that seem to think I am being serious about calling QA a bunch of griefers, whiners and/or misanthropes.

Yes. It is worth the pain in the ass to get. Very sweet hand cannon, the shot takes down a shield, and the burn helps keep it down. Super useful both in PVE and PVP. As people mention, 3 man ToO teams all using thorn do well because it’s a good kill weapon, and a great assist weapon.

I was being funny. I try not to take it personally, and understand the value that QA brings to an org.

I’m a dev of sorts in enterprise software, so I work with lots of QA people who try and break my stuff.

Obviously, I am only speaking of the Crucible portion. Xyor wasn’t that bad once you’re leveled up with friends, and getting the exotic bounty requires no special grinding.

Actually a good idea. I think I will have my IRL friends do this.

Nonsense. It takes skill to finish the bounty. Period. The rest of the debate is about exactly how much skills is needed. I suppose if you are very lucky, one can randomly drop.

What does ‘Casual’ mean in the context of this game? 100 hours playtime? 50? lol

I’ve done it twice now. But yes, I get my ass handed to me. I’m mostly a PvE player, and it took a long time to not completely suck at Crucible. (A good match for me still is only just above a 1.0 k/d ratio, although during peak hours I can have games where I run as much as 4.x k/d)

Your suggestion hinges on having the right gear to begin with, which requires being a pretty decent player to even have that gear. You can’t just up and buy Word of Crota, you have to grind the raids for it.

I was running ToO with a hardcore guy on my friendlist, and he mentioned how some teams would glitch out of getting shot by having a “Lag Switch” hooked up to their router; basically a toggle switch that cuts the lead on an ethernet cable.

Actually, I think your larger point is one that mimics the real world phenomena of the Rich getting Richer and the Poor getting Poorer.

Destiny has been interesting. I spent much of my Memorial day not at BBQ’s, but running hardcore missions with Canadians who also weren’t at BBQ’s. I got sucked in by a super hardcore player on my friends list, and the promise of loot was too much to resist (sidenote: I was not disappointed).

This expansion is cool, and rewarding, but the only reason it feels so is because of the abysmally low bar set to begin with.

Yeah, see. I am not *that* bad after lots of practice... But I am never first, and rarely second on points in the 6v6 matches.

Cool! But dammit! I suck at PVP and so do my friends. lol
