Actually, Judas does talk about that in his death song, asking why Jesus "chose him" before committing suicide.

Fuck you, Chris. We know this is your disqus account.

Oh man, Paula Poundstone on inane studies is amazing. She's definitely in my top three. Brian Babylon would probably also get in, and then… Roy Blount Jr., who for at least a year I kept thinking was a congressman from Missouri.

Except he's not on that much either. Also, shut your mouth, WWDT is a goddamned treasure. Less now that Karl Kassel retired, but still solid to excellent depending on the panel (which has improved dramatically over the years).

16 years! And even then, is Kilbourne really white?

Just imagine the N.Y. Post article response… wait, my bad. Post readers are illiterate.

Jesus Christ Superstar. I want to be able to sing like Caiaphas.

Wrex is clearly more correct

Not anything super recently, other than it was on IMDB for a moment but not accurate. I think it's the sort of thing that can be cut away, there's a fairly easy work-around using the Bw/oB in her place, but it's a bit disappointing because I'm really looking forward to what happens when she gets Jaime in her grasp.

This sucks. David Carr was one of the best media journalists of the past half century.

Oh, agreed in that the show is excellent and the characters are multifaceted and extremely deep by TV standards. This is the only show where I've ever bought the BluRay DVD editions. And some characters do get shorter shrift in the books than in the TV shows, because we don't have as good an insight into their worlds

Nah, Tifa looked like a pinup star but was pretty innocent. Aeris, on the other hand, looks like the "good girl" and ran around with SOLDIERs.

Vaan wasn't the protagonist of XII, though. He's basically a framing device for the story. Basch or Ashe are the actual protagonist.

Fuck, I want a dragon.

I'd strongly disagree, because the POV gives many of the characters much more depth and makes them much more interesting. Jaime Lannister, for all the good work they've done with him on the show, is vastly more impressive in the books. Cersei starts to make sense. Davos becomes a vital character and one of the best in

The books are significantly better than the series, in pretty much every single way. They also have pretty gigantic plot clues that haven't been in the show at all, like who Jon's mother is. Your loss.

Oh, definitely. The show can be very, very good- even great- on it's own. I just feel like there's more stumbles when they get away from the books (e.g. the aborted arc of Locke and going back to Craster's keep, which included replacing the AWESOME character of Vargo Hoat).

I feel similarly. My only concern is that the show will suffer for not having a firm skeleton to build on- some of the worst stuff in the show has been when they've added side-plots- but I think they're good enough to make a solid two episodes of TV. Plus, I'd be unsurprised if ASOIAF6 came out right at the same time

Hodors for Algernon?

Hell, Rudy Giuliani married his first cousin.
