And if her religion if real she is literally in hell. Corrupt institutions built on lies, control of others freedoms and their physical bodies, persecution, and hatred don’t get to decide who is a saint for the rest of us, as much as they want to. It’s sort of like how the church declared that the earth is the center

It must be frustrating to be a troll when nobody cares about your dumb opinions.

Nobody is criticizing the old bat for feeding the hungry, but rather because she was a crazed sadist who believed that suffering was divine, and so refused to offer pain medication (or even any sort of care at all to certain patients in her facilities, amongst other things.)

She was given one million dollars that Charles Keating stole from investors of his failed savings and loan. When asked to return it so that ordinary people could recoup pennies in the dollar that Keating squandered, Teresa refused. Some of those people lostt all of their savings. And some committed suicide.

Which is why it's hilarious to me someone is on here saying Hitchens was worse than Teresa.

Except Hitchens wasn’t directly responsible for a lot of entirely preventable death and misery.

Considering her name is still common shorthand for someone who’s pure and selfless and beyond reproach, I’d say most people don’t know what she was really up to.

Was coming here to say this. Hitchens wrote extensively on the fact that this woman literally loved misery.

Aside from this New Statesman article (https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/human-rights/2014/04/squalid-truth-behind-legacy-mother-teresa), Christopher Hitchens told us all we needed to know about Mother Teresa in a UK Channel 4 documentary in the 90s (which was then expanded into a book: The Missionary Position).

If they die mad, he will lose his titles and no one would hire him or his wife. And he never drew the boundaries. His family did when they denied his initial request, nay, demands, that he be allowed to continue with this royal duties and make money on the side.

It’s clear as day that they’ve monetized their life and the dog had to get written out of storylines. Deranged doesn’t begin to describe this.

not to mention if the dog was so dangerous, why did they pose for pre-death photos with the dog - with the baby right beside it?!?

He wanted to “Old Yeller the dog?????" What a fucking asshole.

They also stopped the adoption of an actual human child because they wouldn’t be able to monetize it for a year. Not much of a stretch to imagine them putting a dog down because it was no longer convenient.

I suppose you can reasonably believe that not “all dogs have an endless right to life” and that sometimes euthanasia is the only option for dogs that are irredeemably violent, however you might judge such a thing. I don’t know if that opinion, reasonable as it might be, has a lot of relevance here, since by their own

Fair, and I realize that I'm making my own judgements about his statement. I just don't take what he says at face value.

In the middle of the ocean.

So far, he’s given 53.8 billion dollars to charity. I don’t get the need of people to jump on him, either.

He’s not “hoarding” wealth. He created it. He founded what under his leadership became one of the largest software empires in history and a little thing called Windows which runs the vast majority of desktop computers. (Among other things.)

And unlike a lot of very rich people, he created a huge non-profit foundation

Yep. It’s a hit piece just to be a hit piece. The Gates Foundation has been investing a _lot_ of money into things that have the potential to improve quality of life for a lot of people. Drinking water, electric power, all sorts of things.
