I have heard of many cases of a spouse trying to prevent their ex’s new partner from being around the children of the marriage, etc. I have yet to hear of anyone who has been successful because it’s absurd to try to control the personal life of an adult. I just don’t believe it to be true.

As part of their pre-nup rather than part of their divorce agreement? What a strange thing that would be to put in a pre-nup ... No chance it would hold up in any court regardless of the circumstances. Even in exchange for a benefit, as some suggested, it would be essentially blackmail and impossible to enforce.

I still think it unlikely. A judge has to sign off on divorces and I can’t see a judge signing off on what would essentially be blackmail. One parent is entitled to not share custody or even have visitation as long as they pay child support, but that doesn’t mean they can make demands on another adult’s personal life.

That is very likely the case.  That’s why one should always go for a lump sum payment rather than ongoing spousal support!

It’s legally impossible to stipulate unless for some bizarre reason she agreed to it. Frankly I think it was just a rumour that some believe is fact.
