I re-read Wraith Squadron earlier this year... it holds up really well, compared to a lot of the other EU books.

The scaling on this is so bad I have no idea how anyone believes it.

VW replaced the high pressure fuel pump and intake cam on my 2006 GTI... twice... First time was in 2009 as a preventative when the car was being rebuilt (ask me how much I hate Geico) after a Ridgeline took her face off, then again in 2013 at 110k miles when the cam follower on the pump failed and ate the cam lobe.

In the show, the line was something like “a girl is not ready to be no one, but perhaps she is ready to be someone else?”

Aside from “oooh Drogon!” and “omg Shireen!” the only thing really standing out to me story wise is that Arya isn’t wearing a different face... I mean, wasn’t that the point of her getting access to the deeper level of the House of Black and White?

The commentary about these being vanity projects looks accurate. Taxpayers should be upset. Having to remind journalists that governments have no money that isn’t collected from its constituents is getting to be tiresome. If funded entirely privately, it would undoubtedly be easier to swallow, until you see the budget…

This. The Jedi Academy trilogy is probably the strongest, but its still terrible. Darksaber is one I’d have strongly urged to remove from the Canon (before Disney did...). I haven’t revisited the comics he wrote, but I think they hold up a lot better.

Read the first one due to the reviews. Was kinda intrigued. Getting through the second was a chore, and proved to be so derivative that I cannot remember anything of note about them other than “kid finds dragon egg”.
