Fantastic info! Thanks so much!!

Dealer here... I'll just chime in.

Follow up on Saturday or Sunday nights an hour before closing time. Call and ask to speak with the salesperson or manager you've spoken to before. Remind them you'll be a buyer when they meet your figure, but that they shouldn't waste your time if they won't or can't.

It's just like this main post said: have your well-researched number in mind, tell them that is what you'll pay for the exact car you want, and if they can do it you'll buy today. Presence in the dealership (like you did) is key, because anyone can say anything over the phone or via email. When you're in front of

PSA: Truecar does not the best deal make! Truecar used to be consumer friendly, back when they were Zag.com.. but now the tides have turned making people believe they're getting a steal.. For example: I paid $4k less for my new Wrangler than truecar suggested I offer.

I would like to take this opportunity to point out that no dealership uses KBB, no consumer should use KBB, and I've never understood where they come up with their figures. It's always grossly inflated.

I have to agree with the GTI statement. I test drove a 2008 model (new), and was so completely, sorely disappointed. It just didn't feel quick to me. The interior was nice and the car felt solid, but it did not have the speed that the Cobalt SS or MazdaSpeed3 had.

On #5, what model was it? I was looking into possibly getting an R32 a few years back and the amount of 'regular' models with a GT-R badge on the back is crazy. Also, when it comes to ride on cars like this, I'm always suspicious of them being modified by someone who doesn't really know what they're doing having

Ford: "LOLOLOL CHROME ALL THE THINGS!!!"
Me: FUCK IT'S SHINING IN MY EYES!

I've been around Jeeps for a while. I had an 82 CJ7. I initially hated the JK, especially the four door. As time went on, I still hated them. Then they came out with the 3.6 and I gave them another look. I seriously want a JK Unlimited. I currently own a TJ Unlimited, which I really love, but damn those JK's are nice.

Even as a mob, they were unable to take out three overweight elderly british men.

y'know, as much as I believe government isn't automatically the answer to everything, I don't really have a problem with this. If only states in the US would go after unsafe mods like this, or those retards who put HID capsules in their stock halogen housings, or people driving with two temporary spares, or those

It still weighs 4,900 freakin' pounds. You don't suddenly have a RWD Festiva on your hands, here.

I've had 10 neons so far, with one being an SRT4. I miss that car with its decent handling and dump truck exhaust tone and torque. What I don't miss is being revved at every stop light like I was a street racing POS.

Subprime loans were common practice 20 years ago. I'm not sure how they work today, but here's how they did then...

I read this story off of a reddit link, and a lot of people also came to her defense in keeping the car. The fact is, a known vehicle with a known maintenance history is a relatively smart decision over selling and getting a possible clunker. Controlling risk is just as important as controlling finances.

Looks great on track.

Counting down the days until swapped onto a Golf with stretch.

So it is $3,546 over 5 years more expensive to buy a Ford Lariat. That is about $709 extra per year. I personally feel that the extra "cost" to own a Ford is worth it to me to keep all of my cylinders running.
