100% agree on the setting and characters holding up, but imo the combat is where it’s fallen behind. It just feels so clunky now compared to other real-time combat systems like the Tales games.

AAA uses a pitch clock now, and the games just hum along. I personally enjoy it, but I can’t imagine they’ll ever use it in the majors.

that didn’t stop them from changing the IBB rule. That’ll save what? 2 minutes a game on average? Teams won’t let them touch the way they use relievers now, and the league won’t touch what actually makes games so long (more commercials), so these rule changes are more for show than anything else.
