So somehow I never managed to eat there and only heard about it after I left. I might be working in the area again soon, though, and I will most definitely be checking it out if that happens. I’ve heard many good things.

When I worked in the University City area of Philadelphia, my office was around 38th street. I would take the train to 40th in the morning, and get on at 34th at the end of the day.

Why? Because that meant travel both ways way downhill, and gravity + kick scooter = fun.

Definitely don’t spend thousands of dollars. I shoot with a Sony NEX-3N I got years ago for about $350 (lens, case, and memory card included), and it serves me well enough. You may even be able to find used gear that’s in good shape for less money than that.
