Surprisingly, no. I'm in Colorado, and followed the theater shooting trial, and a lot of the victims testified that they tried to duck behind seats, but were shot anyway. Holmes had a ton of ammunition, and the only reason more weren't hurt/killed is because one of his guns jammed.

I enjoyed Anne-Marie, and was sorry she wasn't much of a presence in the game. She had a great reaction when Trebek pointed out how far behind she was at the end of round 1 - like "whoops, I know." Also loved her cat enthusiasm, especially in light of Chu's assertion that Trebek doesn't care for cat stories. Her FJ

That FJ wager was utter nonsense.

I shouldn't admit this, but I did exactly the same.

Because I've lived in the Boulder area for the last 20 years, I thought of Naropa. But I knew that couldn't be right because it's not well known enough, so I bounced over to BYU.

The word "colonial" in the clue led me to the right answer. I never would've thought of the Netherlands otherwise. That was a bad category name - world history might've been more accurate.

Yeah, especially for a story with a global scope. It gets into the collaborative nature of comics - is that a ding on the artist?

Agreed. People are going to go at least a little nuts in an apocalyptic event, but he should've taken a straw poll among some women on that. I also agree with the criticism that there weren't enough women portrayed with real bodies, but I can get past it. The story overall was thoughtful and engaging, and about

Y: The Last Man was one of the first comics I read, and I believe it's as fine of a piece of literature as anything in the cannon (of books). Self-contained and very accessible.

That's the only tolerable way for wine people to be. Hawaii-philes.

Poor Mary. She had a couple of outrageously bad answers. Jennifer's big personality really did take Trebek's heat off of her.

Lucy Lawless has said that she used to do that to her kids to make them behave. Best mom ever.

This is the kind of thing that got me to stop fast-forwarding through the chit chat. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be rewarded with something that insane.

Now I know Amazon sells MAC. Thanks AV Club.

Or Harper Valley PTA.

I was so excited to hate her after the intro, but that freak won me over with her Rush anecdote. Go big or go home.

I couldn't decide if she was the best person or the worst. Still not totally sure, but she was entertaining, knew her stuff, and shook up Trebek, so I'm leaning to best.

Hoover Dam was my initial guess because I thought the Golden Gate Bridge must've been finished before 1937. Then I decided no one would be that into the aesthetics of the Hoover Dam, and went with the bridge.

I'm hoping this means more book news!

The first time that phrase was used, you know it was probably pretty great.
