To be fair, Jezebel covered Savita Halappanavar’s death pretty extensively.

Yeah, I don’t know. Katie clearly had some very serious shit on him, so who knows what that custody agreement looks like.
“I, and many women like me have been failed by our politicians. First, they left me with no option but to go to England for medical care. Then, by their refusal to change the law, they left me with no option but to go to the courts on my and other women’s behalf.
I’m one of those women who has had to travel for an abortion from southern Ireland to the UK. As hard as having an abortion is its nothing compared to the trauma of having to navigate your way around a different country. I was lucky though it was an option for me, for so many others with no money or freedom it’s…
A start is a start.
Even if the law is changed, it doesn’t sound like it’ll fully legalize all abortion, just allow it in cases of rape, incest, threat to the mother’s life or an nonviable pregnancy.
Also, he likely has a legal right to see Suri, and if he wanted to, Katie Holmes couldn’t do a damn thing to stop him. If he hasn’t seen her for two years, that’s on him.
Not going to feel much pity for Cruise. He clearly took his children with Nicole Kidman away from her. Whether he’s not seeing Suri because Katie is a Suppresive Person or because Katie opposes his religion, it’s a taste of his own medicine. Either way, he has clearly prioritized his cult over his family.
Oh noooooooooooo! I’m a male receptionist; am I going to catch The Gay? I’ve been at this job almost 9 years now? IS IT TOO LATE?
I’m going to blow your mind here — what you have personally experienced doesn’t actually encompass everything that exists in the world.
I’ve seen both of those things, so I guess we’re at an anecdotal stalemate!
I think it’s because the gender that matters (men) see mostly women in secretarial positions and conclude that it’s a “chick” job.
I have seen both and been a receptionist. I did turn gay, though.
Where I work, all the “support staff” are women except for one man who is being groomed for bigger and better things. The women get hardly any career mentoring or advice. Everyone always acts surprised when they see the guy filing papers. How has the “women = secretary” mentality not changed since the 60s?
Really? You’ve never seen a garbage-woman before?
There is only one step: be a fricking decent human being and treat women like we are human beings. Is that so hard?
“If you do it enough,” Dorner informs his classmates (many giggling with discomfort), “she’ll subconsciously think she has no choice.”
No choice? We women call that rape. Or the GOP.
“Soup de Jour is just code for soup of the day.” Code. Code.
