Yeah the Witcher books are hard to read at first for the same reason (except obviously its translated from Polish), but after a few chapters you don't even notice it anymore. The writing style reminds me allot of Hideyuki Kikuchi's Vampire Hunter D books.

Have you read the books the games were inspired from? They are not in the same canon, yet they are great companion to the game because they give a better insight into Geralt's relationships and into the history of the witchers.

Still one of the best anime soundtracks out there.
