Can’t wait to watch, but I started to have a big problem with the first season on re-watch. Namely, the effort (most notable in the S1 finale) to shoehorn some sort of “girl power” feeling into the story. Taking the smallest moments June has of finding SOME leverage or autonomy, and piling on the rousing rock-n-roll

Re “Donald Trump cannot tolerate not being the center of attention,” as Alice Roosevelt Longworth once said about her father, President Theodore Roosevelt, “he wants to be the corpse at every funeral, the bride at every wedding and the baby at every christening.”

“My body is a road map of pain!”

It must be nice to be a conservative in Hollywood - if your career dries up for whatever reason, you can move on to a lucrative follow-up career; telling everyone who’ll listen that your career dried up because you’re conservative.

It takes time to set up camera tricks and use doubles so hobbits and dwarves are now just slightly shorter actors. Middle-Earth is now less epic and breathtaking and more “Starbucks parking lot.” Wizards wear bathrobes covered with product placement stickers, somewhat like NASCAR drivers. No battle can have more than

I hear an executive working for Amazon was envious of Mozart In the Jungle’s success and sought to undermine the show using his connections. But in secret, he watched every episode of the show, twice, his defeat growing greater with each passing minute.

It’s interesting how the competing forces of the veneration of Russian culture and the desire to cast down the useless trappings of the bourgeoisie came out in the Soviet approach to pre-Soviet Russian art. Tchaikovsky, being seen by some as not sufficiently and fully Russian during his time (trained as he was in

Just for the Gorka impersonation alone.

If you needed a new reason to hate SNL read The Daily Beast article about the wonderful James Adomian. Not only do you get more proof Alec Baldwin is the worst but James brings up the point that there hasn’t been an openly gay male cast member on SNL in 30 years.

I’d be worried about scaring the children, (and adults)

Hello Jamie. Big fan of the podcast!

You’re only telling part of the story and it’s misleading. Against my better judgment I’m going to assume that you’re just mistaken and not purposely leaving out the relevant information so you can score points against the ‘progressive left’.

“The review doesn’t matter, that it was written does. There’s a huge change in film criticism right now, where reviews for films on platforms such as Netflilx simply don’t matter.”

Of course the review matters. Valid artistic criticism doesn’t go out the window just because the critiqued medium changes. “Whelp, no

Holy shit, man. It was a complete disaster. I’m astounded by how aggressively scattered and thematically baffling it was. What a massive letdown. I think Paul Rudd’s mustache is actually a pretty good metaphor for the movie; it’s out-of-place, off-putting, ill-defined, and barely even functional in it’s purpose and

Wonderfalls season 2 or GTFO!

I think that’s pretty fair. In my opinion, the depth you’re looking for is there, but they’re not doing enough to bring it to the forefront.

EXT. - THE RED KEEP - BATTLEMENTS

With all due respect, I did a re-watch of Enterprise last year and it’s much better than it gets credit for. It’s certainly better than this show, especially the third and fourth seasons.

The work environment being toxic was an intended part of the show. It was never meant to make the audience feel comfortable.

The reason I hate this theory: the most interesting thing about Lorca is that he exists in a moral gray space. Writing it off as Mirror Lorca feels like an utter copout, depriving him of being among the most morally complicated characters the franchise has ever offered up.
