I don’t think that and never have. I think that there is a racist core backing Trump of let’s say 70% of people who voted for Trump. I can see that I’m not going to change your mind, and realize that we’re all hurting, but I do think it is worth noting that a 16% swing in a state that is 97% white has nothing to do with voter suppression laws (again, a real problem, but less so in the lily white mid-west).

Obama won Ohio by 3 percent, Trump won it by 8 percent. That’s an 11 point swing. That doesn’t happen because a few more rural voters registered. Iowa was a 16 percent swing. Michigan was 7, Pennsylvania was about 7.

I’m sorry, but this doesn’t logically hold up. Obama won Michigan, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania. Twice. Clinton lost all four. presumably, some of the people who voted for the first black president twice also voted for Trump.
