I still think the best Geralt voice was by Peter Kenny for the Witcher audio books. It took some getting used to after playing the game, but it really grew on me. Peter Kenny is such a talented voice actor.
The only thing even more stupid than exclusives are *timed* exclusives.
Hey John, what about the time you were in Paris for Call Of Duty 3, and the police got called because of the Nazi flags hanging visible from the street?
Leave those poor Belgians alone man.
We had something similar last year (few weeks before Covid). Rental agency asked if we wanted navigation, of course it would cost extra. We declined, because as you say we all have phones. Turns out all their cars have navigation built in. So they were trying to make us pay for something we were going to get anyway.…
This game looks great. Even though the gameplay itself probably isn’t for me, I love the style and aesthetics.
This was so awesome to see. I personally didn’t care about either of those games, but seeing these guys lose their shit was (and still is) priceless.
Wow, I actually had to Google Dying Light just to make sure I was thinking about the right game :D
“Doing a Drake” has become sort of a saying in our household, referring to the act of climbing where your handhold breaks away. So many games do Drakes nowadays.
When Rockstar added first person mode to GTA5 I figured is was to prepare for their own VR implementation. Surprised that they never went there. But then again maybe their plans changed after Online started printing money.
It looks like a rainbow, so my kid is going to love it.
YOU ARE NOT PREPARED
“and God said unto y’all...”
Well, yes true. I’m sure storing a map and the current state of your character is more complex than storing unlocks. But the again I presume these maps are generated based on a seed. So you store the seed you store the map. And if not, it’s still an in mem object somewhere, so worst case you serialize the object and…
That doesn’t make sense because the game already saves your progress in the form of permanent unlocks. So the save system is already there, in some form at least.
That’s an... interesting way to spend 250k...
It doesn’t need to be long if the experience is great, right? I paid the equivalent of about 70 dollars in the 90s for my video games, which were rarely longer than 2 to 3 hours. No regrets. And the other day I went out to eat with the missus and paid about 90 dollars for a 2,5 hour dinner and drinks. Totally worth it.
Not being able to save is an instant deal breaker for me. I rarely have more than an hour at a time available to play (kids, etc). And even if I did, I’m not sure if I’d want to play a game like this for hours at a time. Pretty sure I’d be exhausted :D
Fun fact: the Dark Forces games were the only games ever (outside of VR, that is) to give me motion sickness. No idea why. Never had any issues before, never had any issues since. But these games were pretty much unplayable for me.
