Yeah it was confusing but the overall message is no duplicates. Playlist packs are just the playlists the developers decided to include all together for whatever reason, while discover packs are the playlists they didn’t include all together for some reason. The playlists in discover packs are only available in

16-card “Playlist packs” are $15, and 5-card “Discover Packs” are $5. Each pack will always have the same cards to avoid duplicates.

In Freestlye, anything goes. In the other two gameplay modes, it doesn’t allow wrong-colored spots, because it would mess with gameplay. I would guess most vocals overlap each other in weird ways so there’s probably a good reason for it as well.

Dropping a more powerful card into the mix might change the key or tempo of the results

There is a legitimate argument to be made about this sort of loss of artistic effect from remasters. In this case, however, I don’t see it.
