I had the same reaction — IX is my favorite FF, VI following suit quickly behind — so when I saw it on the “recently released” list I was so pumped to finally download it and see what had been changed/fixed/etc only for it to not actually be out! What a pain.

Damn Straight.

I think a huge part of this process is we’ve (as a community, not necessarily as individuals) really embraced the DLC-Games-as-services ideology, and as a result publishers are pushed to make unrealistic development schedules and deadlines and guarantee all sorts of hype-building content in their DLC season passes. Amen!

I generally tend to believe that less focus on advertising and press coverage and more focus on a game will generally lead to better game-making (I don’t need 10000x promises about a game coming out every week I just want my games to come out finished pls), but this is one of those examples where I feel like Bethesda

See, this is my exact issue. I was super pumped for F4. I went through the same phases as everyone. Man, this looks amazing. I’ve been playing Undertale all week and it’s been knocking my socks off! It has gone from reminding me of the first time I played all of my favorite games as a kid, games like Final Fantasy IX, Earthbound, DDR, and hell, even some parts of Demon’s Souls with some of its writing (Maiden

Now THIS is the Boston I grew up in.

The same applies to you, though going by meta critic rating FF9 is literally >the best< FF, so....

Me too. Played it online for a long, long time.

That’s the point!

That’s why they introduced a paid model. It’s great, too. No ads!

I want to get better at games. I’m already good at games — I’ve never had an issue with the Souls games or breakneck rhythm games, and I used to play competitive street fighter and such at my local scenes, so i’m not ‘bad’ at them — but I want to finally break some bad habits, maybe start to learn some patience and
