I’m incredibly excited to read this comic, but I must say — I’m a true-blue evangelist for Alien 3 and think it’s a wildly under-appreciated film. Fincher’s film is certainly not as fun as the first two but its bleakness has haunted me since I first saw it. It’s a pity that Alien Resurrection essentially erased the

I don’t know, seems like great Wes Anderson material to me -- Asian appropriation, aquatic adventures, a madcap billionaire. He can even have the savior be a white Midwestern girl.

I’m hoping some of these are on Netflix or Amazon Prime. Sadly there are no more Kim’s Videos to go rooting around in for these treasures.

Older Lando is going to have some EPIC capes.

Meanwhile, across the universe:

I’m sure this has been noticed by smarter, more eagle-eyed fans, but certain shots of the quantum realm look EXACTLY like Strange’s astral plane (that kaleidoscopic refracting effect is briefly seen). Perhaps Strange sent his astral self there before being snapped into ash, and somehow Strange encounters Scott?

Thank goodness she was an interesting and well-developed character because, in terms of the narrative, her motivations really made no sense, even for a comic book movie.  But I was fully distracted by the performance, the excellent character design and her kick-ass phasing effect. I definitely want the action figure.

Is it possible that younger Hank Pym/Ant-Man meets up with Captain Marvel in some way? (I would add Janet too, but I think she’s off in the quantum zone by the time of the CM movie.) If Pym is somehow connected, could we somehow also see Scott in there as well via the ‘time vortexes’?

So then — of those who are left who are NOT the original Avengers. Do we think there is any significance to their survival, plot-wise?

He should have said Spider Man: In Mourning or Spider Man: A New Beginning just to make people freak out and keep — at least superficially — the continuity spoiler-free.

The bar is so high for Marvel films that ‘pretty good’ or ‘enjoyable if a little lightweight’ = bad.

I think the Soul Stone will come into play with Nebula somehow taking possession of the Gauntlet (as she does in the comics) then makes a sacrifice, trading her life for Gamora’s.

They really, really want Shazam! to be DC’s Deadpool, don’t they? But not that nasty, of course. Just a little irreverent. Cheeky.

Unfortunately not every twin film set was as watchable on release as The Prestige/The Illusionist, but as time goes on, it’s clear that only one of them is a classic.

I could barely muster up the enthusiasm for one reboot of The Jungle Book, much less two. Yet another example of the twin film phenomenon.

Easter — the day of Resurrection — is on the weekend of April 21st. The current release date for Avengers 4 is May 3, but keep in mind that the release date for Infinity War was moved up one week to April 27.

By the way, the new Captain Marvel film opens on March 6, 2019.

I mean, she’s been in America for several years by this point. Madonna went to England for three years and suddenly sounded like a drunk version of Dame Maggie Smith.

I mean, so much of her character is problematic, starting with the name SCARLET WITCH (which is why we rarely hear it). That said, they should wrap her in fabulous kaftans as they have been proven to be effective for magic usage.

Forget the fact that we’re barely seen any of the soul stone’s abilities. Since the comic version controls souls of the living and the dead, I have a feeling — based on being the most unknown of the stones — that it exacts unexpected results.
