We need the DOJ or the FBI to investigate every single act of police-involved violence. Local prosecutors hesitate because they need PD cooperation to net convictions and they’re afraid that actually punishing the “few bad apples” will draw the ire of the FOP and the ridiculous amount of political power they wield.

As I recall, you can use the FBI and other federal agencies in fiction, but recreating their logos is where it gets tricky. I think the X-Files badges rearrange “Federal Bureau of Investigation” because it’s a felony to create fake government ideas.
