My problem? He’s not only failing to “coordinate all his subplots” but he’s actively increasing the scope of the story by adding MORE subplots!! I mean, c’mon. It’s time to work to the ending, not introduce a few dozen new characters. Martin’s lost.

Read the comment above from the fan that almost broke out in tears in the airport when she read the news.
The idea that HBO would devote 10 years to this series is fucking retarded. The contracts to lock up the actors that long would not allow it, the young actors are aging, etc. Martin is full of shit if he’s using that excuse.
I think that Martin lost QC a long time ago. Specifically, when he scrapped the five year gap he originally planned and shat out the crap that was books 4 and 5.
At this point, I don’t give a shit what he does. I’m fine with the HBO series and, given how terrible books 4 and 5 were, they can’t screw up the series and worse than Martin did.
Who gives a shirt why he did it? The point remains the same. He gave D and D the story and they’re going to air it before Martin writes it.
If Martin didn’t post multiple updates letting everyone know what he’s doing all the time, people wouldn’t have the details to begin with. For the life of me, I don’t know why he writes a blog. It’s 99% drivel. It seems like it’s a hobby of some kind to him, and if it is that’s fine, but it doesn’t seem to really…
If that was his intention, he could have done it in a flashback and saved us from the tedium of reading that shit. Martin shit the bed by not going with the five year gap he originally planned.
Or, how about the fucking dipshit that we follow across the world and then . . . He gets killed by the chained dragons. Dumbest plot diversion ever. And in a series that has LOTS of dumb plot diversions, that’s saying something,.
After reading DwD, I was happy to just let HBO finish the series. That book was pure shit. If you liked it, I’m happy for you, but you’re definitely in the minority.
And does nothing to atone for those crimes. Admitting you’re a criminal is not exactly an endorsement of good character.
Bullshit. Martin has been doing everything but writing. He may claim he’s all broken up about blowing another deadline, but those are crocodile tears. If he cared, he’d spend time writing instead of running a half-assed movie theater.
How is he NOT causing financial injury to his publisher? There was an agreement to have the book ready to go. Martin failed to deliver. Now, the publisher misses out on selling it in March. There is a time value of money, you know.
Idiots act like idiots. That’s why they’re idiots and that’s why he’s acting like one.
The fact the cover up failed does not mean there was not an attempt to cover up wrongdoing.
Hell no. TFA is great. Go see it.
I re-watched the series prior to going to see TFA and The Phantom Menace is a disaster, but I actually liked II and III much better than I remembered when I initially saw them.
Nice attempt at logic there, but Dance with Dragons is a terribly written book and was one of the worst I’ve ever read. Generally, I don’t read garbage like that so it’s not surprising it wins the title. Maybe you make a habit of reading crap like that, but I don’t.
No, I think he’s an insufferable dickhead now.
I just hope that, at some point, a character shows up with tits on his breastplate and explains to all of us that they’re totally useful.
