is this guy mentally ill?

hmm, okay, i mean by dint of being an 80 year old cartoon character, yes, he has kicked Hitler's ass and beat up a shark with his bare hands and saved a half dozen orphanages and so on, but i think the essence of his character is more "hot headed smart ass" than "world famous adventurer".

dude just because his name is "Duckworth" doesn't mean he's a duck. what about Lucky Whitehead on the Cowboys? he's a person of color. his head isn't white.

"Donald Duck is one of the most daring adventurers of all time!"

okay.

Stephen Universe has loads of gay* characters and it's treated so casually, like it doesn't even occur to anyone that same-sex love could be a big deal. it's completely wonderful. in a way, it deftly avoids seeming controversial by pretending there's no controversy at all on that front. it doesn't make a big deal

i disagree. i think that explanation makes significantly less sense.

i'm not giving him shit, i'm just leaving shit in an unmarked mug, hoping he'll come by and swig it.

she also appears to be offering up her posterior for jon's disposal.

no garfield discussion is complete without a link to the time Jon Arbuckle drank a cup dog semen. not a photoshop. not doctored. 100% real. that was the joke Jim Davis came up with that day. "haha, jon drank dog jizz." https://pbs.twimg.com/media…

she used to appear in the comics pretty regularly. like in the early 80s.

and then what?

Jim Davis is kind of a dimwit.

come on, down that path madness lies. do you want to argue that GI Joe, Rainbow Bright, and Barbie are also genderless?

yeah i'm aware but Opus also had a proclivity for dressing up like and imitating former First Ladies, and Rosebud's gender was a mystery until she got pregnant (or was it the Spuds McKenzie storyline?) either way, either her biological sex was unknown or she identified as male until that point.

the real debate shoulda been over Nermal's gender.

Opus? Rosebud?

he's not buckling to anything. he made kind of an airheaded comment in one interview one time. literally every other statement, interview response, cartoon, movie, or comic or whatever over the past almost 40 years has portrayed Garfield with a male identity.

i have rings on both my hands right now and have no fucking idea what these defenders are talking about.
