@avclub-ea098057cb0d1379deaf8c1cf4a1fe3b:disqus The titles tend to barely suggest the content, though. An article called "Ten Mind-Blowing Secrets of the Illuminati and also Star Wars!" is usually just some entertaining anecdotes and stories and whatever. Like, a lot of time you get the feeling the author has no say…

Well, there's not really anything that says Shaw isn't a robot! So obviously she is also. The alien shrimp incubated inside her because its eggs just happened to live in Holloway's jizz, no fertilization happened there. When David was watching her "dreams," he was basically just engaging in some filesharing.

Looking at his credits, I also technically watched part of Marie Antoinette, and saw Dot the I at least three times. I don't remember a thing about his character in either.

I keep forgetting Peter O'Toole is alive. This part would have been
great for him: a little bit showy, almost a cameo, but not completely
insubstantial.

How would he even know David was a robot, unless he had Robo-Detecto-Vision? And all it would tell him is that the kids are a chip off the old block, so to speak.

It wasn't an awful, awful movie, but it was a pretty mediocre-lower one. I kind of like the comparisons people have made to Avatar, in that it's beautiful and has competent direction, but seems to care very little about rising above a set of basic stereotypes. I enjoyed it while I watched it, in the same way I enjoyed…
