Of course not. I’m just explaining one reason these companies are trashing scooters left and right: when they started doing the rentals, the scooters weren’t designed to handle it.

I’ve been looking for any other news source for this story, and there is very little.
Is there any other information that makes you question this?

Some more context here: the early gen scooters were bought straight off the market from Chinese companies. Now, I can’t vouch for whether or not these devices were good for their intended use—which is personal use, with the owner hopefully taking good care of it, repairing it, not exposing it to the elements…

I wanted to take this opportunity to say that I am not going to continue reading Deadspin due to the management’s lack of concern for the user experience. These auto-playing videos with the sound on are too much. I’ve been a reader for nearly 10 years, but I can’t abide by such egregious lack of care for the product.

How? Finley asked for and was granted a restraining order after the alleged assault. So what do you know that the rest of us don’t?
