Yeah, I was at least expecting Harriot to reference the other high profile case like this... I thought I read this on The Root, but couldn’t find the article for some reason.

The Mayor who is proposing this, Chuck Espy, is black. I subscribe to Harriot’s credence that blacks cannot be racist.

It’s actually not that uncommon, especially for defendants under the age of 22. The logic is that by getting them to enroll in an educational program, it reduces the likelihood of falling into the cyclical trap of recidivism. The report said he shot her first. She may have gotten it from away from him but tazers only have one shot. She couldn’t have used on him.

That’s why I was shocked when Deadspin kept writing articles about “collusion” being the reason Harper and Machado weren’t signed. Simply stated, their production in no way justifies their contracts. 

She’s 44 (or 45 depending on reports)... I’ll take 1000:1 odds she wasn’t actually pregnant, but using it as a means to stop being attacked by the cop.
