Neither article gives many facts about the case, but the police will often charge two combatants in a fight with different charges based on a variety of factors. Looking at the pictures though, I can say an able-bodied adult beating up an elderly person is always going to result in elevated charges.

You are absolutely correct, these programs would be funded through higher taxes or a reduction in spend from other programs. Again though, you can’t just “raise taxes” at a massive amount (which would be required for these programs) without seeing other impacts to the economy. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where…
