Speaking as an Eagle Scout, former Scoutmaster, and (I think) still current merit badge instructor: The BSA as it currently stands should probably just go away. I think the best solution would for them to merge with the Girl Scouts, which is generally a much more positive and inclusive organization.

Girl Scouts in America is (generally) not preachy and accepts trans girls, but they don’t have as good camping facilities as the Boy Scouts. Not sure how Girl Guides compares to either organization.

GSA doesn’t have a history of ignoring/accommodating abuse, nor (as far as I know) has it ever had an official policy of booting out gay and trans kids.
