It definitely ruined HZD for me as I played that game after BotW. And it's just so... Jarring. I'm playing other games now like KH3 and Tales of Vesperia so I might find it less jarring when I go back to HZD, but playing HZD and BotW back-to-back was the worst possible idea I had.

They usually reserve that for the evolutions like last Gen they ended up being Grass/Ghost, Fire/Dark, Water/Fairy. It’s Fire/Grass/Water because it’s easier to introduce the concept of weakness triangles using those simple elements (basically rock-paper-scissors-rock kind of thing). Keep in mind that these games are still for kids, so of course they wouldn’t go too deep with the starters.
