I really enjoyed Sleepwalk with Me, but I honestly preferred the spoken word version of the climax of the story. I think he does a better job hitting the beats when he tells it as opposed to shows it.

in some of those scenes it's like he thinks he's doing another Lynch film

FSM was a fantastic comedy until the third act turn. Then I hated it.

Downey Jr is great, but Ben Stiller is awful

Tropic Thunder is amazingly overrated.

Force Majeure is in no sense a comedy. I literally double checked to make sure this was supposed to be a list of comedies when I came to that.

bah. 7 is my least favorite of the series (judging the first 3 differently, as I think they warrant a different scoring).

There are only 6 books in the Harry Potter Series

"To watch the new live-action BFG is to wonder whether this beloved tale—rich with ostensibly cinematic elements, from skyscraping villains to a sprawling fantasy world—even really belongs on the big screen."

I find it unlikely it will be around Marin, as I think it already fell through once in the Bay Area

I spent that summer working at a remote forest site, and only got to go into a 'town' a few times. The only movie I saw all summer was ID. I even had a couple beers beforehand, so I was primed to not be *too* picky.

"get rid of all their jarring sickly colors in their clothes and the weird textures (something very German about it) and basically have them move in closer - but instead they would do this Indian head bob thing in one another's presence - with loose hair no less."

is that true? I was under the impression that his show (and specials) are pretty hokey but that actual magicians thought he was talented

dang. this is disappointing. I always kinda hoped she got out because she was smarter and more competent than the rest of the group….

did it not? I wrote *tons* of emails in lieu of letters in the 90s.

" This is a shocking reveal to anyone unfamiliar with the theory"

"I’ve been wondering this whole time how restoring the old Targaryen monarchy makes for a satisfying ending. "

I think for any artist with a number of albums it's rather valuable to discuss where the current album falls within that range. Not in a 'this albums is not as good as that album' way, but in a 'this continues in the tradition of this album, and not like that album'.

if one doesn't like the polished pop take on music they've switched to, why wouldn't someone wish they were more like their old work?

I want them to go back to This Business of Art
