I only go to the greys when I’m reaaaaaly bored and don’t have anything due. My doctor said I gotta watch my pressure.

Don’t worry about it. PatriarchSmasher is our frequently visiting Reba.

Absolutely great. Wonderfully written. Wonderfully clear. Thank you for writing this. Thank you for being so publicly consistent about this topic.

Do they sell RC outside of the south? I only see it (and Cheerwine and Blenheim’s) down in the Carolinas and GA. Y’all folks up in the frozen north or out in the earthquake lands have RC?

Not ONP, but classic example of 90s ATL. I still ride to this every couple months.

I grew up country, so un-owned dogs weren’t always unknown dogs, but them unknown dogs? No suh; I ain’t wit it. And THEN I read Parable of the Sower in my 20s (wow that was a while ago) and saw this National Geographic joint about African wild dogs and realized again that, no suh; I mos definitely ain’t wit it.

As much as I love President Kuti, that’s not my favorite joint in there. The Nina Simone joint at the top is one of the Blackest songs ever. Just listening to that song increases one’s Negrosity by a good 70%. If you start actually moving to it....? David Duke might find his soul.

That whole album is great. I was so stuck on the first four songs, it took a month for me to realize the rest of it was fire, too.

1, 4 and 10 get HEAVY rotation.

I get what you’re saying, but I definitely opt for uber over taxi even at a taxi stand, because I don’t EFF wit cabs no more. I’ve given up on them.

I’m with you on most of this, but since I’m a Black man, uber is cool with me vs cabs. I have never in my life been able to depend on hailing a cab if I want to get somewhere. I don’t even try with cabs anymore. Uber / Lyft is the joint.

When people count improvement by monetary increase, but utterly neglect the human realities, I have no patience. Poverty rates are down, but that’s because poor people have left, not because poor people have enjoyed an economic boom. Home values have gone up, but that means Grandma can’t afford her property taxes.

You’re joking, right? Petworth ain’t Petworth at all anymore. The block I used to live on is now almost entirely white. The shops down on Upshur and Georgia cater almost entirely to wypipo. The farmers’ market? That ain’t there for the Black folks and Salvadorans. The only possible way you haven’t noticed an

To quote The Founding Principal of Roots PCS in Washington, DC, Bernida Thompson, Ed.D in published statement about “segregation” in the DC Public Education sector:

Which is why Daddy had a dog stick for walks and Granny had a .22 dog gun for the porch.

It was all fun and games til I called you a northerner. That was the step too far. I get it. I truly and deeply apologize for the attack on your person.

See, here’s the thing. You have now at least twice (that I have witnessed; I’m embarrassed for you if it has happened even more) referenced an admittedly good album as the best ever. This would take in not just all Wu related things (ranging from 36 Chambers to ODB’s un-rehearsed mumblings to the million dollar
