All I know is that the comments sections of the few sites I saw the article on were almost universally, "Women are oppressed!" "No minorities are more oppressed!" "No, you're men, you can't be as oppressed as women!" etc. etc. etc.

It is important, and a lot of folks don't care. The issue is that that kind of behavior is so strongly integrated into our government/business structures that it's difficult to singularly target out, especially given how closely tied together politicians and large corporations are. Nothing can really be done on that

My favorite part of the original video...

Did I say that Valve never does anything?

Good, I hope Valve slaps them pretty hard for this kinda shit.

I hide not because I'm afraid of GG, but the anti-GG folks. Because getting involved in it on any side leads to the big potential for abuse, doxxing, and other nonsense. GG is a mess, but for all involved parties, not just anti-GGers.

Did you miss rule 1?

The mobile scene is strange like that. The oddest games can blow the fuck up from time to time with little rhyme or reason. It's a super volatile, unpredictable market. It's not the best example to use for...well, anything other than the mobile market.

It's fine if it doesn't make it to Steam via a consumer vote.

There's a difference between sharing your work through social media channels, image boards, and various forums to gain more visibility, and trying to game a system with your buddies. The former is a natural part of self promotion that exists within the market. The latter is an intentional fraud, abusing a system

If it couldn't get media attention, then the developers need to find a better way to get media to pay attention to it. They have to fight the same battles as every other indie developer across any platform trying to get their game funded/sold. They have the fight the same battle as every mobile app dev that has to

Oh look, indie devs acting in a shady way and trying to game systems for each others benefits rather than acting within the existing rules of a system intended to help them out which had never existed before.

Quite possibly. I'm not trying to tie everything to GG, but when there's timing like this (him recently attacking GG folks and IIRC comparing them to ISIS, as if that's somehow appropriate) and context (complaints from GG folks have lead to advertisers pulling ads from sites like Gamasutra and Gawker, with

Some are, some aren't. There are assholes on all sides of the GG nonsense (both pro and anti) and there are vastly more reasonable folks on both sides too.

He says, but I'm skeptical (as I already indicated). The timing seems pretty convenient for it to be a result of it, and I wouldn't necessarily take someone who engages in his kind of public behavior via social media at their word on things.

Shouting matches: The most productive way to have a conversation.

Well, if this covers extreme cleavage, I guess a number of twitch streamers are going to be out of work : /

Interesting that this comes after he made a series of very hostile tweets about GG. He says it wasn't related to this, but I can't help but wonder if insulting a chunk of the folks who attend your event didn't lead to some negative feedback and pressure.

Well, at least his wife will remember this birthday for a while.

This is called being mature and treating sex scenes as adults.
