Thankfully, I never gave a shit about achievements because they're nothing more than a psychological tool to encourage certain behaviors or retain player engagement for longer than they otherwise may have. Oh, and exist to be pointless rewards to positively reinforce the simple act of playing a game.

Embargo's are actually a benefit to journalists. Publishers could withhold the information they are going to announce until they actually announce it, leaving journalists rushing to write something up about it. By getting it ahead of time, it lets the journalists write something up and ask any additional questions…
