Love it—this reminded me of one of my all time favorite films...
After seeing how Hollywood has portrayed so many historic characters and their rumored history (spy bi etc), I certainly wasn't expecting much from this.
Since when is 35 middle aged? Or is that just a woman thing...because I highly doubt that a man would call himself middle aged at 35. #womenontv
ack-double post
I think that if I had a mother as beautiful as Jolie and she said that I looked good with my hair natural, I would feel good. I have a feeling these children are fairly insulated from the negative stereotypes that our society puts upon little girls (right now- it will change as they get older).
@AmericanSplendor: You mean- an ownership society...and all the debt that one carries with it.
@frigidaire: They are a bit co-dependent. Taylor understands Rachel....in style and personality-there is a level of trust between them that comes with years of working together.
When I heard he lost his daughter to a freak gym equipment accident, my heart immediately sank to the ground. I remembered how he had explained that the love of his children was what gave him reason to turn his life around.
@Ginmar Rienne: I have seen the deportation issue before-although not specifically "voluntary deporation" so I tend to think this is a documented quote from the judge to the defense and this is what the actual "threat of more jail time" was to have been at sentencing.
Not to be off topic, but the guy used the "judicial misconduct" excuse to support Polanski. ...
@Baroness: Yeah- did you notice she has moved out of her house into an apartment? They haven't explained that one, but I wouldn't be surprised if she LITERALLY spent herself and husband out of house and home.
@Anycah: Actually, I always heard that he drugged and raped a young girl-and I have heard it wasn't the only time. It's only recently that I heard he sodomized her, which I find unbelievably abhorrent - even if it was the age of decadence.
@Helen Valentine: I understand where you are coming from, as I simply said I am inching towards it, but the fact is these people put their reputation on the line to support Polanski. It was a conscious choice they made.
Great article- I am inching towards a boycott, I am so pissed at these elitist assholes that seem to believe the law doesn't apply to them and Polanski never committed another rape, which I find highly unlikely.
@J.D.Regent: This is what I don't get- why a predominantly female viewed gossip fueled blog is questioning why they would have to see this?
@MizJenkins: Did you ask that question when she was arrested?
@messybessy: Yeah-not something to be proud of these days. I am also flabbergasted that idiots like Bolton get air time-and how in the world did he even get into government. These so-called leaders of the free world are not even close to anything I would aspire to be.
@BinderClip: I knew Cary over 20 years ago, and he was known as Cary Tennis then. I am nearly certain that is his given name.
So Hasselbeck- What exactly are you saying...are you saying killing is bad and we need to outlaw war?
Utne reader has a good article on the Cary Grant "experiments" and Oscar Janiger:
