I drove a base model A3 Sedan the other day as a loaner. That screen looks seriously out of place, and I kept putting it 'away' with the 'down' button, but every time I changed the radio or did something it popped back up, like an angry, irritating jack-in-the-box. Plus the fit and finish when it's down isn't so good.…

I do it every year, to every car I own. It's still cheaper than fiery death... AND I don't get to be the jerk that is stalled out on an incline with 1" of snow on the road - creating an unnecessary traffic jam.
