I’d love to hear some objective reviews from other Jezebel staff. These videos come off as rude and it sounds like you’ve long made up your mind before even watching the films. This is a legitimate review, I’m not trying to attack you in anyway I’m just disappointing in whats being presented to us. People hate movies…

Can’t stand this snobby brat. Seriously get someone or something new to do these. I don’t know if these are all her original ideas, which is even sadder if a whole team shares them, but everything she’s said about these movies is laughable. Like, do you ever really watch them??

I just watched a few reviews of movies from this person and I have a few questions.

I also think Maria could use a viewing of The Lords of Dogtown regarding the origins of real skateboarding. Plus it features Heath Ledger’s most underrated and hilarious film role, hello.

Tony Hawk lives in my north-of-San-Diego neighborhood, and I’m just going to say that he’s not the only old guy around here who still skates. This is probably an opinion you’re going to want to keep to yourself if you happen to visit.

Its also brilliant and hauntingly beautiful at times. You know just like every other film... oh wait...

That is what your take away is from JoJo Rabbit? Is this the first movie you have ever seen?

This take is too hot. There is absolutely no way that you actually paid attention to the film. Right out the gates with “It is a movie that asks its audience to sympathize with a poor little Nazi boy who really wants to participate in the Holocaust” you show that you might not have even watched the movie. 

If watching the anti-aircraft fire burning into the night before the eyes of children orphaned by the Nazi isn’t enough for you to take this movie seriously than you missed the point. I know people who had their families murdered by the SS and you dishonor those memories by turning a serious film into clickbait.

JoJo wasn’t a Nazi. Calling him that over and over doesn’t make him one. Please fully research the topic of children in the Hitler Youth programs.

When I starting reading this “review” I thought it was a joke but then realized most of the film just flew over your head. 

You really should not be a critic. I don’t say that in a snarky or demeaning way. I say that with the sincerity of someone who doesn’t always get movies, or people, or motives. Honestly, you brought nothing to the review other than a predetermined hatred of the movie, and seeing a movie in that state is not conducive…

JoJo Rabbit isn’t trying to make you laugh along with Nazis. It illustrates how absurd the beliefs about the Jews were, how propaganda can influence even children, and how we must never stop fighting fascism.
