I feel you man! I grew up playing Civ III, I was a kid but got hooked!! My parents thought I was too addicted, but when I explained the game to them, they were perplexed how I could understand it, and also it was non-violentish and they were very strict in that part, so yeah it was my one and only game for some time!

Yeah just like an MMO, you have to be glued almost 100% of the time, you can still pause and try to explain your allies and foes of your situation hoping they would understand and keep it paused.
