The first time I pre-ordered a game was with Assassin's Creed III, which I regret buying at $60. But now the second game I'm pre-ordering is dark Souls II.

Me too, and although graphically it hasn't aged very well, its game mechanics do, I've yet to see another Kart game with such precise controls.

I never could get into Mario Kart because of its powerslide mechanics, because when I played Crash Team Racing, its controls and its powerslide system were so tight I just couldn't go back.
