The M12 was not a re-bodied Diablo. Vector updated the W8 platform and in trying to make the car more reliable (??) and less expensive, sourced the V12 from Lamborghini.

I think the issue is that, at least in my experience, the car wasn’t that expensive so a lot of young people bought them. I know personally of a friend that bought one just out of high school in ‘98 and he still has it.

Not full of it but he should be saying 2nd, 3rd, 4th, just an honest mistake. Lime Rock is a 3rd gear track.
