This is so, so true. I’ve always said that Alabama is basically Mississippi with actual cities. The terrible thing is that they are ashamed of the one thing that makes them slightly more progressive than Mississippi. Alabama has cities but doesn’t invest in them; well except maybe Huntsville, but that place is

Why is this not the top comment of the thread?

Oh my god, I think I’m in love. Phyllis, will you marry me?

Holy fuck. This is so savage, my first thought was that Alabama didn’t actually deserve it.

That’s strange, the general migration was from Alabama to Detroit after the steel industry in Birmingham shit the bed but the auto industry in Detroit was still going. Most of the black folks I meet in Detroit and Chicago tell that their families moved up from Alabama and Mississippi in the ‘60s and ‘70s.

Everything. Alabama, could have a special election between tits, and bigger tits, give out free samples, and they would still elect dicks.

Bama could’ve been the better version of Georgia but settled on just being better than Mississippi. The prison of low expectations.

Now playing

They really don’t deserve those nice beaches... but to be fair, they are home to the greatest call-in sports-show caller on the planet.

Don’t worry. It gets easier once you build an immunity to mace.

Adam Levine ain’t no damn 6 feet! I know dude wears those elevator shoes 24/7

How is Blake Shelton the sexiest man alive? He’s not even the sexiest white guy alive? He’s not even the sexiest third tier country singer alive. Did People forget every other man on the planet existed?

I went to go look up that scene and he says “careful” lol. You better believe it because girl was in danger.

That SweetJamesJones comment is just so much misogyny and insanity to unpack. Couldn’t believe it when I read it (figure of speech). And then the follow ups...

Excuse me? My comments actually have substance and I’m free to express myself whether you agree or not. Racism is actually an outrageous and enraging concept and I don’t have to embrace it on any level. What you have done is attack me for speaking my mind. So obviously a clueless friend of the author...FU

He called, folks answered. Other than policing people, do you have anything substantive to say? Yup, thought so.

This poorly conceived “article” is truly pathetic and embarrassing. First of all, there is only one race, the human race. Being of mixed ethnicity is not a big deal and is quite common. How many people in the world are half Chinese and Korean, half German and Italian, half Indian and Pakistani, half Senegalese and

I don’t think he’s conflicted. I mean he said it himself, the only people who can tell he’s black are other black people. Everyone thinks he’s something else, but not black. So perceived proximity to whiteness ensures a conditional kind of safety and privilege.

I felt the very same way about this article. The whole “very black” and “I have olive skin and a medium build and could pass for everything from Egyptian to Lebanese” just switched me off completely.

This has to be one of the most disappointing articles I’ve read on here. This was like letting a “not all white people” person write an article. While I am sensitive to your struggle with identity (my brother is biracial) I find your conclusions to be a bit troubling for a full grown decently educated adult. Barack

I thought the courts had comprehensively settled that forcing people into patriotic displays was illegal!
