Everything about this guy makes me want to throw up. Even his favorite sandwich.
This might be the audio from the interview you referenced. Thank you for mentioning it, it is a great listen on a sad day.
An argument is not effective if you deliver at a shitty time. There's a reason most everyone, from casual viewers to hardcore racing fans (like myself) had the same response - "sour grapes, asshole" - when they listened to him yesterday. Because he picked a terrible time to make his complaint. I have been saying for…
So I take it you also think it was appropriate that he used the podium after the Preakness win to bitch about Churchill Downs, because he had the "most people listening"?
He would have no problem getting a platform for his comments the next day or in the days after. And as I have mentioned elsewhere on this post, this particular individual has had an issue with diarrhea of the mouth when cameras are on; even when he wins, he pisses all over someone or something else in the process.
The directive came the year earlier, when the action was met with a suspension. Are you seriously this fucking obtuse?
I posted this separately, but the guy was classless even when he won. He used the podium at Pimlico to tell Churchill Downs to fuck itself.
It's a fair point, although I think there are better times to bring it up.
He was similarly salty (or classless) after winning the Preakness. While there are legitimate complaints about accessibility for the disabled at Churchill Downs, one would think that moments after your horse has won the second leg of the Triple Crown, bitching to Bob Costas about a slight that happened two weeks…
I assume you have never been in human resources. If you impose a suspension on someone for doing something, that is considered a final warning to not repeat the behavior. Which Aguero did. Why is this so complicated for some people to comprehend?
Truly compelling (and irrelevant) counterpoint. 0/10.
Go on...
Except, it is.
Filing a nuisance suit to get unemployment benefits if they fired him for cause is a poorly chosen path. Just because you subjectively think the cause is stupid, if they had one (as they seem to), and they have documentation (which they also have, going back to a suspension), one's opinion of the cause is irrelevant…
Ugh. He was the worst. No way he should have stayed over Robert Best in that in challenge; the shitty attitude should have been the deal-breaker for judges.
I disagree and I have years of HR background. If the guy has his ducks in a row - even if he's being a dickish, petty tyrant - it's his call to fire a subordinate.
Dana Andrews? Laura, The Best Years of Our Lives, The Ox-Bow Incident, Ball of Fire, State Fair.
And yet the suspension was upheld, which indicates Potter made a successful case in favor of that personnel action.
Since it turns out he did have an employment contract, and the university says he was released under the terms of the contract, I would wager that his conduct, which his supervisor considered insubordinate (whether or not you agree) was found to be in violation of standard boilerplate. He already had one suspension…
