For as much information as there is about this case, I haven’t seen anywhere what the DNA in question actually was. I’ve heard the theory that it was a booger (or whatever) that might have come from the factory in China.

The DNA was probably from whatever Boulder Police personnel that was testing it, because they are on a near perfect streak of fucking up every step of the investigation.
